Eleni Era - 'eleven63 Sessions'
Louvana Records new live video series
Louvana Records kicks off its new live video series titled ‘eleven63 Sessions’ by introducing Berlin-based artist Eleni Era. This is the songwriter’s first official release and serves as a small taste of her upcoming debut album, out in early 2019.
Even though Eleni first came out on the scene as a classical concert pianist, now conducting the Berlin female youth choir, her songs blend folk-y melodies and lush piano chord sequences, with silky choral vocal loops .
‘Pos’ (How), sung in Greek, is built around a folk melody floating on a backdrop of voices, which builds up with nostalgic electric piano and synth pads. In ‘Omorfo Fengari’ ( Beautiful Moon), also in Greek, she delivers an immaculate performance on a ballad that is just as modern as reminiscent of impressionist harmonies. The song “No one’s near” starts off with layers of looped voices and a spoken quote by Carl Gustav Jung about loneliness, evolves into a piano and synth-bass driven vamp with interlaced dreamy vocals, and peaks with a soaring improv which showcases her flawless technique.
The live videos were produced at studio eleven63
in Nicosia, Cyprus, by Andreas Trachonitis, co-produced by Lefteris Moumtzis and Mikaela Tsangari and directed/edited by Andreas Christophides. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Andreas Trachonitis and Mikaela Tsangari.
