Louvana Presents: 'Autumn Tuesday Live Sessions'
- by Louvana Records

- 15 Oct, 2015

Louvana is adding a musical soundtrack to our
Autumn Tuesdays by taking over Enallax and turning it into a powerful stage for
some of the most interesting original acts the local music scene has to offer.
Autumn Tuesdays are dressed up in Louvana
Diskoi’s characteristic musical aesthetic, and are earning their rightful spot
in the capital’s nightlife agenda. Invited are musicians and bands with
original music and an active presence in the local creative scene, to grace the
stage of Enallax,
in
Nicosia, in
a series of live sessions.
This invitation is exactly what Louvana has been aiming for all
these years: to create a platform where local acts with a high aesthetic can
express themselves, since even though these acts have been creating away from
the public eye, they end up being the driving force behind artistic creation in
Cyprus. Their recent performances at Fengaros Festival only confirm that a
strong music community exists and insists on originality, despite the lack of
performing venues and despite the limitations faced as a recording artist.
These are some of the bands that make up some of the best music this island has
to offer, and through their own individual takes on musical styles (from rock
to electronic), they are here to silence the notion that Cyprus has a slacking
or limited music scene. On the contrary, their presence proves that new
platforms for musical expression are now in demand, as new and fresh musicians
are struggling to share their own personal stories with the Cypriot crowd,
going against what is nowadays offered in the now stereotypical popular
culture.
Among others, we’ll see performances by the bands J. Kriste, Master of Disguise,
The Low Spark, Delirium Elephants, Belua, as well as Moa Bones (GR)
and the
psychedelic / rock band The
Cave Children - one of the best upcoming artists in Greece
at the moment - whose live concert will be the closing of this series. Signed
by Louvana Diskoi, who guarantees a high quality sound and aesthetic approach
in all of its events, these Autumn Tuesdays are planning on establishing
themselves as a reference point in Cyprus’ autumn agenda. Every Tuesday,
Enallax will host two bands for six weeks, offering the alternative
music-loving crowd a substantial choice for entertainment.
The live concerts will begin on Tuesday the 20th of October 2015, and
will continue for every Tuesday until November
24th. The ticket price is set at €8
per concert, except for
the closing live on Tuesday
the 24th
which will be priced at €10.
There is also the option of buying an all
pass ticket for all events for the price of €35.

Once in a lifetime, you’ll experience a pandemic. Once in a blue moon, you’ll have a chance to escape to a secluded island. Once on a red Thursday, as the local saying in Cyprus goes, you’ll be in a situation with a group of complete strangers, fully immersed in the sparks of creation flying forth. On A Red Thursday (9 March) is the product of just such a gathering of musicians from a multitude of backgrounds, journeys, skills and preferences. Their first single, ‘ Until We Meet Again’ , performed by Eurotoire team members Panayi and Jolien marks the beginning of sharing their experiences of stepping outside their comfort zones with the world. Following this first offering is alternative RnB number ‘ So Lonely ’ (3 February) performed by Maris Pihlap. ‘ Figures ’ (25 February) is the final single before the album’s release and sees Raveloe and Tamara van Esch punk out in a commentary on obstacles womxn face.
DOUBLE LP, DIGITAL ALBUM -

In a songwriting programme piloted by Cypriot label, Louvana Records called Eurotoire, songwriters, producers, and session musicians from ten countries were invited to gather in Cyprus to test their limits, trust strangers, and allow their artistry to merge. Their initial week-long meeting began on a Thursday in June at Studio eleven63 in the island’s capital of Nicosia and blossomed into fifteen demos. After another two writing and recording sessions in July and September, the tracks bloomed into the Eurotoire team members’ fully-fledged album. Now they’re using On A Red Thursday to spread the word about the power of surrendering to creative instinct and collaborating with the unknown. On 13 February, the Louvana Records YouTube channel premiered a short documentary created by all eighteen artists with a single camera shared between them. Clips shot by the artists were edited together by videographer Antonis Pouliasis to depict their journey from complete strangers to collaborators as they untie forces to create an album together.
