Lefteris Moumtzis Now Happiness

New solo album release

Cypriot singer-songwriter Lefteris Moumtzis, known for his work with J.Kriste, Master of Disguise, Stelafi and Trio Tekke, is releasing his first solo album. The album is called “Now Happiness” and it was recorded in Cyprus, at studio eleven63, produced by Moumtzis himself and engineered by Andreas Trachonitis. It was mastered by Yiannis Christodoulatos at Sweetspot Studio, Athens. It’s an atmospheric album that consists of ten songs. With this recording he is attempting a more acoustic, minimal approach, giving more attention and care to the songs themselves and the stories they are telling. It is a soothing record that flows effortlessly from beginning to end, leaving the listener with a calming and positive feeling. Stylistically, the songs borrow elements from folk, jazz, ambient and classical music. Lefteris sings and plays guitar, piano and synth, while Dimitris Hadjizisis gives his own touches on guitar on a few tracks. Additional musicians include Stefanos Meletiou on drums, Mikaela Tsangari on backing vocals, Christos Hadjichristou on synth and Vasilis Bacharides on bag drum.

He has recently wrapped up a small tour in Greece, in December, where the album was presented live in Athens, Salonica, Volos and Grevena, as well as in Cyprus in Lefkosia, Lemesos and Pafos. The album’s title song (Now Happiness) is the first single from this album, for which an accompanying music video was released online on the 8th of December, 2015.

Βelua “As Good A Time As Any

Debut album release

Louvana Records proudly announces the release of Belua’s debut album. Belua are Zara Der Arakelian (vocals), Mikaela Tsangari (guitars / vocals), Aphrodite Nicolaou (bass) and Marianna Moumdji (drums). The official release date is January 28th 2016, and on the same day the band will give a live concert/album presentation at Enallax, where the album will be given for free with the entrance ticket.

Belua formed a year and a half ago, and after a few live gigs, including performances at Fengaros Festival 2014 and 2015, they went into the studio in the Autumn of 2015. The resulting album called «As Good A Time As Any» contains ten original songs, written by Mikaela Tsangari and Zara Der Arakelian. The album moves around the style of pop-rock, but bearing strong influences from the blues, psychedelic and folk music, which blends with the band’s trademark harmonies between Der Arakelian and Tsangari. Their compositions range from complex pieces in οdd time-signatures to simple ballads and acapellas, always maintaining a simplicity in the way the songs are arranged, which does not further the sound from the band’s live performances.

The album was recorded and produced by Mikaela Tsangari at eleven63 studio, while the album’s graphics were designed by, fellow band member Zara Der Arakelian. Further production credit is due to Der Arakelian, Moumdji and Nicolaou, as well as Mario Michael and Orestis Savva, and the mixing was done by Andreas Trachonitis. The mastering was done by Yiannis Christodoulatos at Sweetspot studio, Athens. The song Change is already available on Youtube, while the videoclip for the second single, Mother, will be released soon.

Live concerts:

28 January  / Enallax, Nicosia

Upcoming shows will be announced soon on the band’s website and facebook page

In the series Live At The Library, four songs performed live by the choir have been recorded and captured on video at the Cyprus Library, a beautiful space with acoustics that compliment the group’s harmonies. Once in a lifetime, you’ll experience a pandemic. Once in a blue moon, you’ll have a chance to escape to a secluded island. Once on a red Thursday, as the local saying in Cyprus goes, you’ll be in a situation with a group of complete strangers, fully immersed in the sparks of creation flying forth. On A Red Thursday (9 March) is the product of just such a gathering of musicians from a multitude of backgrounds, journeys, skills and preferences. Their first single, ‘ Until We Meet Again’ , performed by Eurotoire team members Panayi and Jolien marks the beginning of sharing their experiences of stepping outside their comfort zones with the world. Following this first offering is alternative RnB number ‘ So Lonely ’ (3 February) performed by Maris Pihlap. ‘ Figures ’ (25 February) is the final single before the album’s release and sees Raveloe and Tamara van Esch punk out in a commentary on obstacles womxn face.

DOUBLE LP,  DIGITAL ALBUM - found.ee/OnARedThursday

In a songwriting programme piloted by Cypriot label, Louvana Records called Eurotoire, songwriters, producers, and session musicians from ten countries were invited to gather in Cyprus to test their limits, trust strangers, and allow their artistry to merge. Their initial week-long meeting began on a Thursday in June at Studio eleven63 in the island’s capital of Nicosia and blossomed into fifteen demos. After another two writing and recording sessions in July and September, the tracks bloomed into the Eurotoire team members’ fully-fledged album. Now they’re using On A Red Thursday to spread the word about the power of surrendering to creative instinct and collaborating with the unknown. On 13 February, the Louvana Records YouTube channel premiered a short documentary created by all eighteen artists with a single camera shared between them. Clips shot by the artists were edited together by videographer Antonis Pouliasis to depict their journey from complete strangers to collaborators as they untie forces to create an album together.
