(Balkans/Middle East) Marina Satti, the young singer-songwriter who captured the hearts of many across the globe with her chart-topping single ‘Mantissa’ and ranked up millions of YouTube views with ‘Koupes’ and ‘Nifada’, is turning things up a notch with her new multicultural concert set: YALLA! 2.0. Satti is showcasing a unique and alternative musical production that is heavily influenced by modern gypsy punk, reggae and electronica and is incorporated into a fresh and urban musical context. 

In a time when racism and xenophobia have become pervasive and normalised, Satti has decided to declare her stance through creating a music show that defines both her artistic identity and her position concerning equality, pride and anti-racism. YALLA! 2.0 stands out for its alternative, pop art aesthetic and fosters intense emotions that empower and voice the need for freedom in order to combat distances. 

On stage are Marina Satti & Fonέs who, with the accompaniment of percussion, a powerful amalgamation of sounds as well as choreography inspired by a multitude of cultures, create a contemporary and festive musical celebration. Diverse dance moves, stripped of the feeling of guilt are sewn into the show’s essence. YALLA! 2.0 will entice audiences into a thrilling musical experience and is a meeting point for dozens of worlds and languages.

Born in Greece to a Sudanese father and a Greek mother, Marina Satti grew up in Crete with a host of cultural influences. She has worked with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Paco de Lucia, Wayne Shorter, Danilo Perez, Nikos Mamagakis, Nikos Kypourgos, Stavros Gasparatos and has collaborated as an actor with the National Theatre of Greece, the Greek National Opera andThe Athens and Epidaurus Festival. Her single, “Mantissa” reached #1 in the Greek and Bulgarian charts and secured her a worldwide publishing deal with Universal Music Berlin.

In November 2017 Marina appeared at Google’s ‘Europe on Stage’ in the Bozar Centre of Fine Arts in Brussels, featuring her among the “10 most interesting YouTube acts of 2017”. In addition, the Votre Beaute readers voted her as “Best Woman Musician of the Year.”
